SPRING IS OFFICIALLY HERE Y'ALL.  New York City experienced a rather mild Winter, but I'm ready for more sunlight, and warmer days. It truly brightens my self!

I'm a firm believer that if you have the proper basics, you will always have something to wear. There are certain staples every single woman should have in her closet. In this look, I pulled together two of these pieces, to create a very effortless vibe.

In fact, I chose this outfit in literally five minutes before I met up with my babe Maria Doka. #facts

I love playing with textures, and I love subtle matching. It's little touches like these that really make an outfit work, and more importantly, harmonize.

Items that Matched:

Red Nails + Red Stripes (scarf)

Dark Denim + Dark Stripes (scarf)

Silver Toned Watch + Silver Aviators + Grey Sweater

Leather Jacket + Leopard Booties 

In this look, we are playing with faux fur, faux leather, merino wool, and knit textures, all of which compliment each other. Adding multiple textures to your outfit, help give your look dimension.

In the beginning of this post, I mentioned that basics are crucial. From this outfit, the two most important, and essential basics are definitely the leather jacket, and the dark denim jeans. 

You could create an endless number of outfits with these two pieces, so investing in good quality is super important. In fact when it comes to basics, you should always spend the extra dollar, so that they last you for many years to come. Trust me, you'll be getting a LOT of wear out of them!

As for shoes, I wasn't too sure if these leopard booties would do the trick. I was a little worried that perhaps the stripes from the scarf, and the print from the boots would clash. But honestly, I think they look well together!

In the end, as long as your outfit makes you feel good, who cares? Am I right?
